The Overlight Process..Part 1

Have you ever wondered why some people who, despite being highly intelligent, keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Have you wondered why it seems when you end a relationship you seem to attract the same type of person to the next relationship resulting in the same negative result.

We learn through repetition so these patterns that repeat themselves in our lives reveal much more information about us than we can imagine. Merely understanding the "why" of things can effect positive changes. The intent of this information is to offer a spiritual perspective to the "whys" of repeated behavioral patterns.

Overlight is a spiritual psychology healing modality that recognizes that we are the creators of our own reality and therefore have the ability to heal ourselves. An Overlight facilitator examines the "whys" of events in your life and creates a space for you to feel comfortable enough to recognize these tendencies and to change your perspective on them from negative to positive. This change is the path to healing of not just your spirit, but your mind and most importantly your body.

Overlight is just one of many new healing modalities. More people are also looking at dis-ease from a different perspective. Healers are looking at things from a holistic overview, not just treating the result of the imbalances but getting to the inner root of the condition. It’s a belief that everything that happens to us is of our creation and is created for a higher purpose than what, on the surface it seems.

How many of us can look back at a time of chaos or dis-ease in our life and see some positive results that occur from them? ” Best thing that ever happened to me” is common to hear people say although rare to hear at the time the events were happening. There is a reason for all things that happen and Overlight just recognizes this and shines this “light over” the event to help people examine it in a different light.

The Overlight process is designed to look at dis-ease, be it mental or physical, from the knowledge that if one can attain a shift or change in the viewing of the so called “negative event” than from that new position healing can occur. Which will then ripple down through the whole being of your body, mind and spirit

Spiritual health is a broad term but one that I believe will be examined closer now and in the years to come. Balance of the body, mind and spirit is the key to sustained health. Overlight is a process that addresses the spiritual balance. Going to the source to get the answers to the questions of why it is happening and then changing the view, I believe, will unlock the door to enduring, long-lasting health in your life.

Did Paris Hilton Have A Spiritual Awakening?

I say a resounding YES!! I know, I hear the laughing and guffawing in the background. Rolling on the floor saying “This guys as crazy as she is”. Well maybe I am but here’s why I believe she has.

First of all let me give you a little background. I had a spiritual awakening of my own in 2000 when my estranged wife died leaving me with 3 teenagers. It was a pretty traumatic time for all of us because she didn’t die of natural causes. Her death also revealed that she was leading a whole other secret life away from the home that none of us knew about until she died.

There was lots of details I found out that made me pretty wild with anger and really shook me to the core. Then in one instant, a few days after she died when the whole family had basically decided that we wouldn’t even attend the funeral, I was hit between the eyes with a realization of how I and we were acting. My perspective completely changed and I convinced everyone that I was wrong in reacting with anger. I got them all to look at the past happenings from my new perspective of love and forgiveness.

I won’t go into any more details as this blog isn’t about me it’s about Paris Hilton. Suffice it so say we all went to the funeral and I got up and spoke about the positive things she had done and all was, well kind of, well.

From there I was a totally new person. Everything changed in my life. My priorities were turned totally upside down. I devoured anything to do with spirit or god or love. I used to be all about sports and business and competition. All the “normal” things guys are usually into.

My diet changed. My habits changed. My attitude toward everything was totally slanted to a perspective of love for all things. I totally cleaned house, literally, throwing stuff out, giving things away, not feeling any value in “stuff”. I had a burning desire to rid myself of any attachments. All I wanted was to help humanity get to what I believed and believe is the next step in human evolution.

Pretty weird huh? Sound familiar? Seems like Paris said similar things to Barbara Walters a few days into her return to prison.

See, I believe that we are, have or will go through a “spiritual awakening”. I believe we will change our attitudes from “make money” and “amass stuff” and “beat the competition” and “win at all costs” and “every man for himself” and “he’s not the same skin color so he isn’t as good or doesn’t belong” to one of unity, integrity and love. We’ll quit chasing the almighty dollar to pay for the things we “think” we need while sacrificing the things that can really fulfill us and give us enjoyment. Isn’t life meant to be enjoyable?

I know that it is in times of extreme chaos and trauma that our true selves come out. Whether it’s the death of a loved one or a car accident or a disease diagnosis or a relationship break-up or a person like Paris Hilton going to jail. It’s these times of extreme shake-up that we stop and examine our lives and ask the questions of why we do things and what is it all about. We examine our priorities and usually take a hard honest look at ourselves. This self examination is going on daily in the world but mostly without the media frenzy that Paris Hilton is experiencing.

When I saw her in the car getting hauled back to jail and she was crying uncontrollably, not caring who was looking and how she looked, I knew that she was being shaken to the soul. Then when I heard about the Barbara Walters phone call with her I knew that she was going through a spiritual awakening.

Now, of course I could be wrong. And I am sure I am in the minority of people who believe that she was sincere in what she said. Likely most considered it an act and when she gets out she’ll be the same spoiled rich kid but I’m not most. I believe that she will be a totally new person. I guess as they say time will tell and some will say “who cares”. I do. I look for these things that validate to me that humanity is changing. I see it every day in every facet of society. We are changing. It’s easy to just look at the “negative” items in the news but there is lots of examples that I could give you to show you that it is happening. It’s happening in our lifetime. It’s happening to people every day.

So I say “Way to go Paris!” “You go girl!” I’m cheering for you! Surprise the world. Be an example of the good things that can come from the “bad” experiences in life. Show all the cynics that you really did have a spiritual awakening. Let me be one of the first to welcome you to a new world.

World Religions.. Are They Headed For Extinction?

In the present day society as well as in history, religion is and has been the main driver in people's thoughts, actions and intentions.

Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, all have books that are used as guide books for them. The Bible, the Tao, the Bhagavad Gita, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, the Torah, the Koran to name a few. They have one statement or concept that is the same for all. Different variations but the same meaning. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Unfortunately that tenet sometimes gets lost in the many applications and interpretaions of these books.

Religion has had such a huge role in human history that to try to define it and source it is a daunting task. Each culture has variations of the answers to the "how's and why's" of existence, but really they all have a common thread. When you stand back and observe the practises and beliefs they all saying the same basic things, in my view.

The main tenet is that there is a God or supreme being outside ourselves that creates and controls all things in our lives. This gives us the comfort of not taking responsibilty for anything that happens and puts it outside of us where we have no control. With a set of rules given to us from the holy books we can live our lives with the assurance that we will go to "heaven" when we die if we follow the rules.

"New Age" belief looks at things from a different perspective. Instead of following the leader the choice is to follow ones self. A belief that we are God also and have the power to create what we desire. How we choose to experience life is up to us, not set out in a rulebook or determined by any power outside of ourselves.

A controversial concept to say the least as it goes against the ingrained norms of our society. Is the next step in human evolution the shift from the mentality of following the leader? Doing things how they have been done in the past just because that's how they been done? Or is it a totally new perspective of following yourself and taking full responsibilty for all events in your life? Are we beginning to examine our actions and questioning the reasons as to why we do things a certain way?

If we are truly changing to the perspective of personal responsibilty, than the doctrine and dogma of religions is in jeopardy of going the way of the dinosaur. Is there signs of the waning popularity of following the rigid rules of the world's religions? I see it. In Europe, where religion has always been such a huge part of daily life the attendance statistics are plummeting. Rejected by a generation of people who are questioning the validity and authority of the church.

I believe the key to the survival of religion is a complete overhaul of doctrine. The major change coming from the amount of tolerance they demonstrate for other religions. Understanding that there are different flavors of the "truth" and all can be respected and acknowledged as being valid. Not discounted or persecuted for their differences as has been the case in history.

Also, a change of the use of fear that religions have practised as a "control" mechanism for people. The fear that if they don't follow the rulebook there will be grave consequences for them in their lives. Religion has and does use this tactic to keep their "flock" in the fold, asking them to give their personal power over to God and all will be well for them.

And lastly, a shift in how the religions describe our relationship to God. That we are lowly servants unable to think or create for ourselves. I believe if you really listen to the teachings of Jesus, he describes how are all like him and have the same attributes that he has but that is a topic for another time. There is room for all these changes in religion without changing the essence of the reason they were created in the first place.

Can we all worship together? Can we learn to not only tolerate but celebrate the differences that each religion has? I believe so. And I also believe that if there is no change then world religions are destined to follow the path to extinction.

Is North America Waking Up?

For centuries we have relied on Mother Earth to supply us the remedy for any physical condition that was presented. It's only been in the last 60-70 years that North American medicine along with pharmaceutical companies have persuaded us that something that's produced in a chemical lab is superior to anything the earth would provide naturally. We've seem to have "bought in" to the idea that there is a "magic pill" for anything that ails you.

Now we expect it. If we go to a doctor we always want them to prescribe "the pill". The amount of prescription drugs that are consumed globally is astronomical. Is taking these medicines the way to good health?

I believe that we are now examining that question as proven by the growth of the herbal remedy, natural treatment and alternative healing industries. I think that deep down we all know that there is another way to heal ourselves other than the poisoning, radiating, treating symptoms; the methods that are are used by modern medicine today. We are searching for alternatives and what better place to look than nature.

Aboriginal cultures believe that the earth will supply a remedy for any physical ailment. Others, like the Chinese have and still do share the same belief. North America right now is waking up or shall I say returning to the fact that this is the true secret to health. Using nature to help us through the times of dis-ease, giving the body an opportunity to heal itself. Natural and herbal remedies may be the "old way" to some but I believe that the reason they have been used for centuries is that they are the real aids to balance health.
